PolypDx™ is a noninvasive test designed to measure small molecules (metabolites) in urine samples to detect the presence of polyps in the colon and rectum. Using the science of metabolomics, specific metabolite concentrations are analyzed with a validated algorithm to determine the likelihood of a polyp being present.
Metabolomics is a new “omics” science which characterizes low molecular weight compounds generated by metabolism. Currently, there are over 40,000 known metabolites in the human body and their specific concentrations provide a snapshot of an individual’s current health state.
PolypDx™ is currently not available as a patient-pay test.
PolypDx™ is currently listed with a Proprietary Laboratory Analysis (PLA) code code, 0002U.
